Prior approval is requested for shipments of:

• Type B (M) packages;
• Fissile packages; and
• Type B (U) packages containing radioactive material with activity greater than 3000 A₁ or 3000 A₂ as appropriate or 1000 TBq, whichever is the lower.

Beyond the approval, such shipments must be notified at least 48 hours in advance to ISPRA. Application for shipment approval and notification can be made at the following address:
